Euthanasia, a death with dignity. The agenda to legalize euthanasia is often coupled with the agenda to advance legislation on hospice and living advance directives. Legal active euthanasia has strict restrictions, in some countries requiring permission from two treating physicians and explicit informed consent from the patient. Patients who can be actively euthanized are limited to those whose quality of life is severely diminished by their illness and who have no possibility of recovering.
